Empowerment in Action

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

OUR MISSION

EmpowerHer SA provides mentorship, peer support, and life-building resources to women in jail who desire positive change. Through trauma-informed one-on-one mentoring, facilitated support groups, and skill-building opportunities, we create a safe and supportive environment where women can build confidence, develop healthy goals, and prepare for a successful transition back into the community.

OUR VALUES

1. Dignity & Respect

We believe every woman deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, regardless of her past experiences or current circumstances.

2. Empowerment

We support women in recognizing their strength, voice, and ability to make meaningful changes in their lives.

3. Trauma-Informed Care

We operate with an understanding of trauma and prioritize safety, trust, choice, and empowerment in all interactions.

4. Accountability & Growth

We encourage personal responsibility while providing support, guidance, and encouragement toward growth and positive change.

5. Community & Connection

We believe lasting change happens through healthy relationships, mentorship, and supportive community connections.

6. Hope & Second Chances

We believe change is always possible, and every woman deserves the opportunity to build a better future.

OUR FOUNDER

I’m Jessica Motayne, the founder of EmpowerHer SA, and my journey has shaped everything I do. I was born to very young parents, and life didn’t always go as planned. I spent much of my childhood with my grandparents on the south side of San Antonio, learning early the value of perseverance and faith.

Like many women, I faced challenges as a young mother and navigated seasons that felt overwhelming. There were times I doubted myself, felt unprepared, and questioned whether I could give my children the life I longed for them to have. But through every struggle, God was guiding me, teaching me strength, resilience, and hope.

Today, I’m proud of the life I’ve built and the lessons I carry with me. EmpowerHer SA exists to support women who are navigating their own journeys, helping them find strength, hope, and the courage to create a life beyond their circumstances.

All the glory belongs to Him.
